Hello all of you seekers out there. This is a forum where people in Jacksonville can discuss all types of philosophy and spirituality. My particular interests are in Eastern philosophies, specifically Taoism & Zen Buddhism, the inherent nature of things, the meaning of life and death, and pretty much everything that most people claim is unknowable.
My vision for the group is a gathering of genuinely inquisitive individuals who can discuss philosophical concepts that normally either bore the pants off or highly offend most people. Anyone who is bound tightly to any religion, philosophy, or belief will very likely be highly offended.
I'm not looking for people who have the answers but for people who know they don't. If you know you don't have a clue how life works but you love digging around for answers then this is the group for you. Just don't expect any answers from me because I'm basically a dumb ass.
We're meeting at Heming Plaza in Downtown Jacksonville for the time being. We will meet in the downtown library across the street from the park in case of inclement weather.

I'd like to discuss philosophy books.
You don't have to read a philosophy book to join us.
But my goal is to start reading more philosophy books and I'm going to use this monthly meeting to encourage myself.
So the idea is this:
Read a philosophy book or at least a part of one.
Come to the meeting to discuss it.
Maybe have a question ready that would spark discussion. Read more
