 Beloved Community, The Amala Foundation announces the First Annual Global Youth Summit, uniting children from around the world for a five-day overnight camp focused on peacemaking, unity, understanding and healing between faiths and cultures. Youth from Africa, Central America, South America, India and the United States, including local refugee and immigrant children, will come together August 9-13 to share a living experience of peace. All Summit activities come from a foundation of cultivating unity, transmitting the message of peace and compassionate response. By acknowledging and empowering these children as future peace-making leaders of our world, they will return to their native countries as Ambassadors of Peace and Unity, planting the seeds for global healing. Support a Sustainable Peace Movement! There are many ways you can contribute: · Volunteer at the Summit · Sponsor a Child to attend the Summit · Send the attached Call For Sponsors to friends and family inspired to create global peace Our first Volunteer Meeting for the Global Youth Summit is Wednesday, July 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Foundation, 1006 S. 8th Street in Austin. If you are inspired to serve at the Summit, or if you are a child between the ages of 11 and 18 and are interested in attending the Summit, please join us for this important meeting. If you intend to volunteer at the Summit and are unable to attend this meeting, please call the Foundation. the Foundation relies on the generous support of compassionate individuals who are committed to nurturing sustainable peace. We are currently seeking sponsors for 30 children: 10 youth from Nigeria and 20 refugee children from across the globe. The base cost of the Summit is $425 per child. By sponsoring a child to attend the Global Youth Summit, you give youth who otherwise may not have opportunity the chance of a lifetime: an experience with the potential to change the course of their future, and the future of the world. Each sponsor will receive a photo and a letter from the child they send to the Summit.
